Aye. I've ventured the shores and mountains of magnificent Scotland but only in me dreams. If I were to live in me dream castle it would be a stately one with many spires built towering about seven levels above the ground. Me favorite room would be the ivory tower at the uppermost spire where I'd sit and look out upon the beautiful land below. Lush flowered meadows would tease me with their fragrance wafting upward within reach of me senses. Aye. Here I would set and ponder the workings of nature, life and all the lofty things one contemplates from an ivory tower. Me castle would look something like this one.

Later, I will delve into the history of this monumental piece of architectural wonder. In fact, it would consume several in a series of posts to explore the history of its origin, the building process which probably dominated several decades and hundreds of skilled architects, masons and builers. Meanwhile, visit their website to learn more about the Franklin Radcliffe, past and present.

My current mission is to find an ancient castle that is being used as a modern day resort or retreat. I will feature one castle every month as part of a regular feature on Classy World Hotels. If you find one you would like to see featured on this site, comment below and be sure to include a method of contact. My plan is to choose a different country each month to seek out the most spectacular castle that I can find. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to procure some actual photographs and maybe an invitation to visit in person. Now that would be a dream come true for me. I've always dreamt of staying in a castle, especially in Scotland. Who knows, I might even find some sponsors who will donate to the cause to keep this starving writer fed.

 Enjoy the adventure!!!

Our quest for unique hotels with style, appeal and class begins in New Zealand. In an extensive search, I landed upon a website for the Luxury Apartment Hotel Nelson. This exquisite resort boasts to be the best hotel in all of New Zealand.

Enter the vacation world of your dreams into a place of beauty, luxury, fantasy and delicious food. "You will never have to leave the hotel," the management boasts. For me, I would at least spend some time reading or sitting to drink a refreshing herbal tea while I admire the architecture and garden that leads into my dream getaway.

After taking in ample fresh air, I would meander deliciously into this warm inviting breakfast nook where I would finish my brunch. Afterwards, the lush furniture beckons me into the lighted living room to bask in the solitude of the day as I gaze out the windows to the flowered patio outside. A warm fire would be the climax to my day as I just lounge whiling away the hours as if time stood still. It would be difficult to leave this hotel paradise to rejoin the chaotic world outside. I would definitely book my stay for at least a week in the New Zealand lush hotel paradise.

For all the sleep I feel that I have lost over the years, I will catch up on plenty of it lying in this plush bed surrounded by the rich amenities that stir the nobility in my heart. I feel so pampered just thinking about this room. All of this presentation is only the introduction to a whole spa resort. Come back for part two of the Hotel Nelson.
