In fact, it would consume several in a series of posts to explore the history of its origin, the building process which probably dominated several decades and hundreds of skilled architects, masons and builers. My current mission is to find an ancient castle that is being used as a modern day resort or retreat. I will feature one castle every month as part of a regular feature on Classy World Hotels. My plan is to choose a different country each month to seek out the most spectacular castle that I can find. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to procure some actual photographs and maybe an invitation to visit in person. Now that would be a dream come true for me. I've always dreamt of staying in a castle, especially in Scotland. Who knows, I might even find some sponsors who will donate to the cause to keep this starving writer fed.
